Facilities
f
Chase Studio is located in Southern Missouri on Bull Shoals Lake near the Arkansas state line. The Studio is housed in eleven buildings with a total area of 50,000 square feet. The buildings are located in a beautifully landscaped, campus-like setting on 1500 acres of rolling hills covered by oak-hickory forests.
The
majority of our space is devoted to model-building and exhibit fabrication
which is the focus of the Studio's business. Our model-building and exhibit
fabrication is divided into several departments depending on the subject
area. We also maintain a complete cabinet shop with a full range of industrial-quality
woodworking equipment. The shops include a welding and metalworking department,
lighting and electrical department, and plastics fabrication with vacuum-forming
machines. Chase Studio Graphics and Photography Departments do design,
illustration, painting, murals, and photography. Business offices, collections
areas, and a specimen preparation laboratory occupy another 4,000 square
feet of space. Our 2,000 square-foot research library has over 15,000
books and reprints on natural history plus subscriptions to 110 periodicals.
Storage space for finished exhibits, materials, collections, and molds
is located in a number of areas.
